How to register a birth

Birth registration is free of charge if completed within 90 days of delivery:

1. Bring the official birth notification letter issued by the hospital or clinic.
2. Present valid national ID cards of both parents.
3. Visit the local civil registration office in your district/woreda.
4. The official birth certificate will be printed and issued on the same day.
